Summary Statement:
A Maintenance Technician is a craftsperson who is responsible for assuring that all Production equipment is maintained in a timely manner and operates effectively. May be skilled in one specialty, but must have potential to become a multi-skilled craftsperson. Example, a skilled mechanic must be capable of learning fundamental electrical tasks, such as reading schematics, troubleshooting motor controls, and power supplies.

Education:
Associates degree, or higher, in related field. Education equivalency will be considered, such as an industrial apprenticeship program and/or military technical training. Must hold certificate of competency in applicable fields(s).

Experience:
Work experience in an Industrial Maintenance environment and/or practical experience in an accredited industrial apprenticeship program. Military experience in a technical field will be considered. Knows and understands the RMBC manufacturing process and its equipment, its capabilities, and its limitations.

Physical and/or Other Requirements:
Must demonstrate skills in the following: Interpersonal relationships, active listening, team-building, communication, planning, organizing, scheduling, and negotiating. Must possess self-control, initiative, patience, influence, and positive attitude. Must be able to receive and give constructive criticism.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Safe use and care of all hand/power tools and shop equipment (e.g. grinders, drills, drill presses, saws, belt sanders, etc.)
Awareness of rigging and lifting devices (e.g. slings, chain-falls, come-alongs, block and tackle, and jacks
Reading, interpreting, and red-lining electrical and mechanical prints
Ability to pull fuses, lock-out motor starters, enter electrical panels, disconnect and reconnect motors, and understand and troubleshoot basic control systems
knowledge of preventive maintenance (lubrication, pm's)
Knowledge of power transmission devices and rotating equipment (e.g. gears, gearboxes, bearings, seals, etc.)
Welding and brazing
Pneumatics, hydraulics, pumping, and vacuum systems
Equipment adjustments, calibration, alignment and vibration monitoring
Fluid handling and dynamics relevant to work area, which might include any or all of the following: water, steam, air, CO2, ammonia, nitrogen, and refrigeration

Job Title: Nuclear Mechanical

Tech School and Nuclear schools.

Job Title: Caster Setup Shop Technician

Education:
Minimum High School Degree Plus 5 years experience performing job description.

Experience:
Experience in rebuilding heavy equipment. Experience with precision measuring tools including but not limited to: vernier micrometer, blade calipers and micrometers. Precision torch burning for removing molten steel and skulling on containment frames. Basic pipefitting for repair and fabrication and spray water headers. Basic tubefitting for repair and fabrication of grease lines. Troubleshooting skills in lubrication systems.

Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Climb ladders, work at heights up to 100 feet above floor and work 12hr shift.

Handling of caster molds and containment segments, cleaning of segments after service.
Teardown and rebuild of both tube and plate style molds.
Teardown and rebuild of containment segments.
Alignment and shimming of roll frames to maintain pass line gage.
Repair of damaged rollers, bearings and spray pipe headers.
